‘Glee’ star stops by PBS party with killer performance


Here is another great review from TVGuide.ca critic of Charice's performance at  PBS Winter 2011 TCA Press Tour last Sunday, January 9th. PBS Winter 2011 Press Tour is two days of special sneak previews of upcoming PBS programs and exclusive access to the talent behind those projects. 

                     
 
" Star encounters: David Foster did a fun shtick about all of his ex wives — he has three of them! — and the songs that they own. While funny at first, and definitely showcasing of the many ditties the Canadian has written and produced, it grew old quickly. 
That was where Donna Summer came in handy. The renowned singer made a guest appearance onstage to sing a couple of songs and wow us with her (still) amazing voice. She sang a duet of Toni Braxton’s “Unbreak my Heart” with Foster, then segued into her song, “Last Dance.” The critics were on their feet dancing — a rare feat for that crowd. 
But the real treat of the evening, for this critic at any rate, was the evening’s final guest, who had just landed at LAX from the Philippines an hour previous to the concert’s start. Charice, the tiny 18-year-old girl with the big voice, who starred on this season’s opening episode of Glee, came onstage to sing “All By Myself” to perfection. I had goose bumps, and couldn’t sleep afterwards because of the rush her performance gave me."  read more on TVguide.ca
