Oprah Effect impacts ChariceMusic Visitors
Variety.com just published an article on their website about the impact of Oprah on record/album sales if an artist appears or promote on Oprah Show. They called it Oprah Effect. The music industry are aware that record sales have been down since the evolution of internet. But with the help of Oprah which claims an average daily viewership of 6.2 million, it can send a new CD titles to the top slot of any charts in the US and can boost up the sales of an album. Sabi pa sa article, kapag nag endorso daw si Oprah, yung mga manunuod ay talagang tumatangkilik at naniniwala.
According to the article, ang iba pang artist who benefitted from Oprah guestings are Canadian vocalist Michael Buble's album "Crazy Love"debuted at No. 1 with 132,000 copies sold in just three days. His label, Warner Bros., had moved the release up to Oct. 9 to coincide with Buble's appearance on Winfrey's telecast. Barbra Streisand scored her first chart-topping album in 12 years when"Love is the Answer" bowed at the apex with first-week sales of 180,000. Whitney Houston's Sept. 14-15 shot on the show sparked a 77% increase in sales of her comeback album "I Look to You."
On the article of variety.com, chief operating officer and Reprise Records president Diarmuid Quinn also said that " Charice sold 60,000 singles behind an appearance on the show". Mabuti na lang hulog ng langit si Oprah kay Charice. I noticed this trend as well sa ChariceMusic website. I talked about it and mentioned it sa mga Chasters sa plurkadas that when Charice launched her Note to God on Oprah. yung # of visitor ng website spiked way up. That was the first time i saw the # of views reached over 10,000 in one day on ChariceMusic. Well the second time i saw it was when Charice went back on Oprah again and the third time was when i posted an article about Charice's new look. It just shows that Oprah Effect really is true even to the # of visitors on Charice's fansite.

Thanks for uploading her video, each time she performed, it's such a kind of you to share with us. I'm a big fan of Charice and almost everyday, I just watched her through "YOUTUBE" because I'm far from where she will perform her concert. I was just enough happy to see her in "YOUTUBE". Fan from France.

Hopefully she will have a tour in France someday so that you can watch her perform live. I know in this economic times it's really hard to travel and i hope when Charice releases her album that she will have a promotional tour around the world. She loves to meet all her fans and she loves to perform to all her fans live. Her single note to God is still available to download online here
One way to support good music and good artist is to attend their live performances and also to buy their music.

Reaching number one like that is impressive, and it just goes to show how powerful Television can still be. The only problem is that Oprah isn’t exactly a dedicated music show and this is something I would really like to see more of on primetime television.
