Charice’s debatable new look
Anyway, Charice’s new look has incited debates, and pros and cons from fans here and abroad. Jake has said people will be seeing more of Charice looking glam and that he’ll soon go to the US with the singer to do her album cover. To which a Chaster (ChariceManiac) retorted: “We don’t mind glam, it’s just your overdoing it… like it better with the first shoot in Face2Face.”

David Foster is just being nice to Filipinos. He does not want to hurt Charice's fellow Filipinos so to keep things simple, he just says that he 'likes' the look. What do you expect him to say? 'I don't like that look'? Of course not, it's too direct!
This sounds like a case of a crybaby hair & makeup artist running to his mother for comfort and protection. The nerve! The only time I buy Manila Bulletin is when I need to check the Classifieds, that's all. I feel the more credible columnists and writers belong to the other top two newspapers, not Manila Bulletin.

whatever charice's looks on the album.. i will still buy the album, i idolized charice because of her voice not because of her looks, but one thing i don't like jake did is he posted charice photo besides the naked photo of the guy, first time i sent the link of charice pics to one of charice's fansite i was wondering why chasters were hunting me, then when i looked back the pics... i saw the porno pics then i was shocked omg omg, i didn't notice that naked pics because my attention is only on charice photo, but out of curiousity i openned it again, then i read jake twit if you don't want to see that thing don't open it, how come he twitted that way? like me i'm only interested of charice but i'm curious why they hunted me. so please charice is minor, charice has lots of fans 11,13yrs old and even younger that are chatting and searching for charice pics and videos, i hope jake next time be careful of charice picture.. not to post besides your blank blank........

Guys, if you could read YES magazine where they featured charice (and her mansion). Mom raquel mentioned that everything and anything about charice MUST have oprah's GO. Even the alvin and the chipmunks exposure went through Oprah. So if and only if Jake Galvez will have his 20 minutes of fame again this time in the US, expect that Oprah has her nod on it. so chill guys.

yes, its true that Oprah advises Charice...but when Charice is in P.I. she is contracted with ABS...and so ABS does not need Oprah's approval for anything...Raquel was only referring to how Charice is being managed by her U.S. management team along with Oprah's input in order to bring the most success to Charice's career...to be clear, Charice showed her Face to Face pictures to Oprah and her u.s. management team....they liked the pictures....but be aware that they know very little of Jake and that they have no control of what Jake will do with Charice makeup right before an ABS-CBN tv show because they are in the Phil and Oprah is not right there to give her approval......so at this point, unless it is made public that Oprah approved, we don't know what is the real story......we just have to wait and see if Jake is allowed to continue with Charice...but you can bet that if he is allowed, he won't have the authority to makeup Charice however he pleases....especially if it will be her album cover...I'm sure the many negative reactions of Charice's fans will have some effect on that decision...because Warner Bros is a business and big businesses always try to maximize their profits...in other words, there is a saying in U.S. "customer is king" ....in the philippines, customer is NOT king because you cannot return items and get a refund!!!!

For him to say that to fans is like Charice saying that. Be professional Jake. Stop whining and crying to the press. Yes, not a lot of people like your work on Charice, suck it up! Obviously you don't know the meaning of humility. I really hope WB doesn't hire you to do Charice's album cover. That would be the worst mistake they could ever make.

What if Charice herself likes her new look and wants to keep it? Are the fans going to quit on her because of her looks alone? Better for a fan to be blind then and appreciate her for her music alone regardless of her outward appearance!

If Charice likes it, that's her choice. What Jake Galvez has been doing to Charice has entirely caused controversy for all those who know of Charice. Also, this "style" and these "poses" that she's in when Jake Galvez works on her, indicates a provocative look. She doesn't look innocent anymore. You can't tell me that those pictures above say that she's "innocent" or "fresh & young" or even 17! Point is, Charice doesn't look her age there, let alone she doesn't look her self PERIOD. She looks like she's been baked. Well, in the end, it is ultimately the choice of whatever makes Charice happy. No doubt, there will be those who are disappointed with this "new look" and they'll slowly lose avid interest in this once known as "the little girl with the big voice". She can't please everybody, but I know many of those just want to make sure she doesn't get ridiculed. Charice has a great voice & that's what got her to where she's at. Now, what will keep her is the whole package. How they package her in mainstream America. In my opinion, if she abandons this innocent look & tries to head towards the sultry, lustful, grown up look...just doesn't match up from the early pictures/videos/interviews/guestings/image that Charice has been portrayed as. It would be without a doubt a complete 180 from where she started during Oprah.

We, the fans, are the major stockholders of Charice Corporation. We own a big stake in the Charice Franchise. We have our money put in where we believe it will grow. We wouldn't want anything that will make the Corporation lose value. As such it is our every right have a say in business matters and will do anything to protect our business interests.
At this point in time, we do not like the very mature glam look (everybody, it's not just the makeup, it also includes the hair. It's actually a make-up & hair combination). We are also a corporation with high standards of social and MORAL responsibility(indecency will not be tolerated). We believe in the Charice Corporation and will defend and protect it. Our interests are pure and anyone with malicious intent or vested interest in the Franchise, we're watching you!

Patt, how can you speak for "the fans" and say that your interests are pure when you just pretty much described Charice as a commodity? She is, first and foremost, a human being...free to make mistakes on her own terms. Ya don't think that Mommy Raquel has her best interests in mind? Ya don't think that she and Charice already debated the issues of her new look amongst themselves? Personally, I don't think changing her looks is going to change Charice's personality...she's got plenty of people to remind her to stay grounded (ahem...the fans).

That's just an analogy Kallie. Certainly we all know that Charice, you and me, are human.
Using an analogy is a good way to explain and defend a point. Describing Charice as a commodity does not in any way diminish her value as a human being with real feelings and emotions.
And oh, changing one's looks I do believe may change just a teenie weenie bit of one's personality in some ways. Have you ever met people who have had cosmetic facial surgery (again, another kind of analogy)? They do say that a part of their personality has changed for good- their attitudes about themselves, confidence, and in worst situations, their self-pride.
Thanks for your concern though, you are also a real fan (very useful during summer).

Definition of metaphor: A figure of speech in which two things are compared, usually by saying one thing is another, or by substituting a more descriptive word for the more common or usual word that would be expected. Definition of analogy: a process of reasoning whereby two entities that share some similarities are assumed to share many others. So "metaphology" it is! (Not open to debate since this is getting off-topic!)
